K-BEAUTY Skincare Favorites

Nov. 2024

My K-Beauty skincare holy grails

I’ve been obsessed with Korean beauty culture for a while now—even though I admittedly know nothing about K-pop or K-dramas (sorry!). What I love most about K-Beauty is the balance between effectiveness and gentleness in their formulas. They don’t inject the products with too much perfume or heavy ingredients. There’s something so soothing about the ritualistic philosophy of daily nourishment and truly enjoying the dedication to your own well-being. On that note, I’m even toying with the idea of taking a solo dream trip to Korea this January for my 36th birthday. If you’ve been, I’d love your suggestions!

Korean skincare has popularized unique ingredients like snail mucin, cica (centella asiatica), and fermented extracts, which are known to hydrate, soothe, and rejuvenate all skin types, giving us the viral “glass skin” effect. You will see trending ingredients emerge from Korea and then hit the Western beauty market in a wave. For example, K-Beauty sunscreen, masks, Korean 10-step skincare routine is now a well-known ritual and cult-favorite brands like Laneige, COSRX, and Sulwhasoo (love their serum). Whether it’s hydrating sheet masks, lightweight sunscreens, or deeply nourishing essences, it’s a rabbit hole of top tier products that are a fraction of the price of what you see here in the states. This post is an active round up of all my K-Beauty favorites I’ve used & loved so far!
